No Deposit, No Guarantor, No Blame: Renting at The 1815

Moving into a student flat comes with plenty to organise. At The 1815 Building, we keep our approach to renting clear: no deposit, no guarantor and no blame. Here is what those promises mean, and what you should still check when planning your budget.
No deposit
We do not take a tenancy deposit. That means you do not have to set aside a separate security deposit for your flat, and there is no deposit return to chase when you move out.
Rent is still payable. Before committing to any property, ask for the rent and payment schedule in writing, and check which bills you will need to pay separately.
No guarantor
You do not need a guarantor to rent with us. A parent or relative does not have to sign as your guarantor. If you are unsure about the application process or what information is needed, ask our team directly.
No blame
A home is somewhere to live, not somewhere to worry about every scuff. Accidents happen. Our approach is to put things right rather than make residents anxious about everyday marks and mishaps.

Cleaning is included
You arrive to a professionally cleaned flat. When you leave, take your belongings and we do the clean, with no cleaning fees or extra charge.
Residents staying for a second year also receive a courtesy deep clean during the summer break. We repeat this every additional year you stay. Our cleaning promise explains it in one place.
Know what to include in your budget
Rent: compare the monthly amount on each flat page. We also show a weekly equivalent for comparison.
Rent increases: your rent will not increase for at least the first two years of your stay.
WiFi: high-speed WiFi is included in every flat.
Other bills: included utilities vary by flat. Check the individual details and ask about any costs that remain your responsibility.
Everyday spending: allow for food, travel, course materials and personal expenses.
No deposit does not mean every bill is included. Our flat listings let you compare the actual space and rent rather than a headline alone.
